INGREDIENTS
3 C Cooked plain Quinoa
0.25 C Maple Syrup |
1 C Milk or Rice Milk or Soymilk* 1 t Cinnamon |
DIRECTIONS
1. Put all ingredients in a saucepan
2. Bring to a boil
3. Simmer, stirring occasionally, 5-8 mins or till desired consistency
SUBSTITUTIONS FOR MAPLE SYRUP
0.5-0.75 C sliced Bananas**
1-2 T Coconut Sugar
Chopped / Dried Fruits
ADD-INS
0.5 C chopped nuts
1-2 pinches Nutmeg
grated Orange or Lemon zest
1-2 T Cocoa Powder***
* For Vegans, use either the Rice Milk or Soymilk
** If using Banana, remember the color will darken; also, plan to eat right away
*** If using Cocoa Powder, you may want to increase the sweetener to counteract the Cocoa bitterness
C = Cup T = Tablespoon t = teaspoon
